UniMax’s Industry-Academia Collaboration Golden smart car triangle warning sign is presented at the 2017 Young Designers’ Exhibition. Traditional triangle warning sign combined with advanced IOT technology attracted a lot of attention from the media and the recognition of government departments, such as Industrial Development Bureau and the Ministry of Education, and wide acknowledgment and favorable reviews from the general public. It testifies the results of UniMax’s involvement in the Young Designers’ Exhibition and its support of innovative, forward-looking products without sparing any effort.

The Young Designers’ Exhibition is the largest and most professional design exhibition in Taiwan that focuses on talented students and provides an industry-academia project collaboration platform for the most effective interaction and meaningful exchanges. IOT X automobile electronics is theme of UniMax this year’s theme. Backed with extensive industrial knowledge, solid research and development background, and design ability, UniMax devotes itself to industry-academia cooperation, student mentoring, and resource assistance. Among dozens of groups of participants, three groups of students were selected for the technology mentoring program, and smart car triangle warning sign by Zhangziyan from Shih Chien University Department of Industrial Design won the gold medal.

The design of the triangle warning sign for smart car of UniMax’s Industry-academia Collaboration Golden Award is based on the idea of protecting users from being hit from rear when setting up the warning signs. When an accident occurs, drivers could send the warning sign back to a point distant from the car automatically to warn the cars behind to reduce any potential risks from breaking down and stopping on the road. Drivers could also use cell phone to connect to the Internet of Vehicles uploading the breakdown information to the background graph database of navigation software as a reference for other cars that use navigation software to modify the routes or call for roadside assistance via APP.

The foldable streamline design of the smart car triangle warning sign breaks away from the traditional rigid look and minimizes the assembling time by unfolding the sign with uniaxial rotation. Screws are spared in the design to prevent users’ hands from being cut or a part falling to damage other cars. The smart car triangle warning sign is a result of the outstanding ergonomic industry-academia collaboration design that joins the Internet of Vehicles tech trend together.

UniMax’s Industry-academia Collaboration Golden award-triangle warning sign for smart car that combines triangle warning sign with advanced IOT technology and ergonomic design immediately became the main focus of the Next-generation Design Exhibition.

The distinctive features of the smart car triangle warning sign not only won the attention of major print media but also that of live coverage. During the exhibition, both Industrial Development Bureau and the Ministry of Education have visited and recognized the fruition of the industry-academia collaboration. Many people also stopped at the booth to acknowledge the stylish design and the advanced technology application.

The exhibition demonstrates the result of UniMax’s industry-academia collaboration from which more innovative and forward-looking concepts were explored. The mentoring program supported by enterprise resources nurtured the development of ambitious products, enhanced the development and design ability of the product for smart cars, and furthe enhanced the professional image of UniMax within the industry.
